Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully.
These Terms & Conditions, taken together with the Participant Release constitute a binding agreement as to your participation in the Nike After Dark Los Angeles 13.1 (“After Dark”). After Dark will consist of a 13.1-mile Race (the “Race”) and a Post-Race Concert (the “Concert”) (collectively, the “Event”). DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE EVENT UNLESS YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO THESE TERMS & CONDITIONS AS WELL AS THE PARTICIPANT RELEASE. These Terms & Conditions and the Participant Release supersede any prior understandings or agreements, whether oral or written.
In consideration of being allowed to participate in the Event conducted by Nike, Inc. (“Nike”), I acknowledge, warrant and agree to the following:
PARTICIPATION OVERVIEW
Race Application: All participants must provide accurate information, including age, gender, and emergency contact information, when completing the Event application. Registration Opening & Closing: Applications for participation in the Event will be accepted from January 3, 2025 at 9:00am PST until 11:59pm PST on January 31, 2025. Pace Requirement & Course Completion: Selected participants must be capable of completing the full distance 13.1-mile Race. Participants must maintain a 15-minute per mile pace during the Race. Age Restrictions: To register, you must be 14 years of age or older on June 7, 2025. Participant Release: Each participant must read and agree to/sign a Participant Release during the registration process. If you are under 18, on the date of registration, your parent or legal guardian must sign a printed Participant Release. The printed Participant Release must be brought to packet pickup and submitted to Nike before a minor will be given a race bib and allowed to participate. Accommodations: Any participant seeking accommodation in respect of a disability must submit a written request to AfterDarkTour@nike.com. Entry Transfers: Participant registrations and bibs are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged or sold. The sale or transfer of Race entries or bib numbers is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification and/or a ban from future events for all parties involved. All entry fees are non-refundable. Refunds: All Race registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Event Cancellation: The Race or Concert may be postponed, altered, or cancelled by Nike due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including, but not limited to, war, epidemics, civil or political unrest, terrorism, or severe weather conditions. In the event of altered Event or cancellation, Nike will not be responsible for any costs incurred by the participant, including travel, accommodation, or any other expenses. The Nike will not have any liability or responsibility to the participant in such cases. Race Number/Bib Pickup: Participants must pick up their own packets. No exceptions. Participants must provide government-issued photo ID upon picking up their packet that reflects the name you registered. Race Number/Bib Pickup: Your official participant bib, which displays your Race number, must be fully visible at all times and worn on the front of your torso on your outermost garment.
RACE DAY
Start Corrals: Participants are responsible for arriving at the start corrals assigned to them, based on their best pace, and entering at the designated corral entry points before the corral closing times. Runners may move back to a slower corral but may not move forward to a faster corral. Once a corral is closed for entry, late-arriving participants must report to the next open corral. Race Start: The Race will be started by an air horn unless otherwise noted. All participants must be behind the starting line at the start of the Race and must follow the instructions of the Race starter. Course Marking: Participants must remain within the designated course boundaries at all times. The course will be marked with barriers, traffic cones, signs, and other indicators. Participants are required to observe and follow all Event signage, symbols, and directions related to the course and facilities, and must comply with the instructions of course marshals and Event officials. Failure to do so may result in disqualification. Official Times: Official finishing times for all runners, except for overall winner are based on chip time/net time, the time from when the runner crosses the start line until they cross the finish line. The overall winner is the first runner to complete the entire course and cross the finish line, the overall winner’s time is based on gun time or the total time to run from the start to the finish. Drones: The use of video devices, computers, drones, unmanned aerial devices, or any similar devices are not permitted on or near the Racecourse. Wheeled Devices/Vehicles: Baby strollers, joggers, skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles, motorized devices, and any other wheeled vehicles or devices are not permitted on the Racecourse. Authorized wheelchairs, handcycles, and other devices for participants with disabilities, provided they are pre-approved, are allowed.
SAFETY
Event Officials: Participants must follow instructions as given from all Event officials including staff, volunteers, medical personnel, fire and police officials, security officers and city officials throughout the duration of the Event. Public Health Guidelines: Event attendees must adhere to city, state and other public health guidelines and orders. Event Signage: Participants are responsible for their recognition and understanding of Event signage and symbols relating to participant maps, facilities and directions. Medical Attention: Event medical personnel may examine any participant who appears in distress. If, in the sole opinion of authorized medical personnel, it is in the best interest of the participant’s health and welfare, medical personnel may remove a participant from the Event. Medical Expenses: Participants are responsible and assume liability for any and all medical costs incurred as a result of training for and/or participation in the Event, including but not limited to ambulance transport, hospital stays, physician and pharmaceutical goods and services.
CONDUCT, DISQUALIFICATIONS, & VIOLATIONS
Professional Conduct: All participants are expected to behave in a professional and courteous manner during the Event. Any participant who engages in unprofessional or unsportsmanlike conduct, or who displays offensive behavior or language toward Event officials, Event staff, or volunteers, may be disqualified. This includes, but is not limited to, providing false or misleading information on the Event application, or any conduct that, in the sole discretion of Nike, is deemed unethical, unfair, abusive, offensive, harassing, disrespectful, harmful, or illegal. Examples of prohibited conduct include, but are not limited to, alcohol consumption, public urination or defecation (except in designated restroom facilities), and obstruction of other participants or the course, unless specifically permitted by the Event. Unauthorized Assistance: Any registered participant who receives unauthorized assistance may be disqualified. This includes any registered participant who permits an unregistered runner to run with them for any part of the Event. Disqualified Individuals: Individuals disqualified from the Race will be removed from the Race results and may be barred from future Nike events. Nike reserves the right to reject any entry and to disqualify and bar any individual from any Nike event. This rejection/disqualification may be based on, but is not limited to, the violation of the aforementioned rules. Prohibited Items: The following items are prohibited from the Event: At SoFi Stadium, permitted bags should be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and cannot be bigger than 12”x6”x12.” Prohibited items include, but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, diaper bags, cinch bags, non-approved seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags or any bag larger than the permissible size. These Official Event Rules are subject to change in the sole discretion of Nike, Inc. Participants shall be bound by any modification or supplement of the Event Rules. Failure to follow these Event Rules, as may be amended, will result in immediate disqualification, loss of prizes and removal from official results.
