Nike After Dark Sydney is a dusk-to-night 21.1km running experience designed to celebrate and inspire women’s running culture through performance, community and an immersive race production.

The course begins at Rozelle Parklands in Sydney’s Inner West and finishes at Tumbalong Park. Runners will experience mixed terrain, harbour foreshore views and pass iconic Sydney landmarks, enhanced by purpose-built lighting installations, before finishing in a large-scale post-race celebration featuring live music, recovery experiences and retail activations.

To participate, individuals must:

• be officially registered and receive a confirmation email from Nike After Dark Tour
• be, or otherwise sign up to become, a Nike member prior to race bib collection
• present their QR code at race bib collection
• wear the official race bib assigned to them during the event

• if under 18 years of age, provide parent or legal guardian consent during registration as required by Nike
• be medically fit to participate and capable of completing the 21.1km course within four (4) hours
• agree to comply with the Event Terms & Conditions and Participant Release
• not sell, transfer, or exchange their race entry or bib number.

The course operates under a rolling road closure schedule. Participants unable to maintain the required pace may be redirected from the course in accordance with event operations and safety requirements.

Yes, supporters and spectators are welcome to attend and cheer on participants.

The event will run rain or shine.

In extreme weather, such as severe thunderstorms, excessive winds or other hazardous conditions, the event may be modified, postponed or cancelled, which participants will be notified of via email in the lead up to the event. Participant, staff and spectator safety remains the priority. See Event Terms & Conditions for further information.

2. payment has been processed successfully.

As part of the registration process, you will be required to provide valid credit card details. If your registration is successful:

• your card will be charged the applicable registration fee and
• you will receive a confirmation email and payment receipt.

Your credit card will not be charged unless you have accepted the Event Terms & Conditions and associated Participant Release.

If your registration is successful and payment is processed, a receipt will be sent to the email address provided during registration.

Please note that certain information (such as name or nominated age category) may not be able to be changed once registration has closed.

Yes. All participants must agree to a Participant Release if they wish to register for the event.

If you are under 18 years of age on race day:

• your parent or legal guardian must sign a printed Participant Release
• the signed Participant Release must be brought to Bib Collection and provided to Nike and
• a race bib will not be issued without the signed Participant Release.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable laws, and without excluding or limiting any rights that cannot by law be excluded or limited:

• entry fees are non-transferable
• entry fees are non-refundable if you are unable to participate due to personal circumstances, including illness, injury, surgery, scheduling conflicts, or change of mind
• entry fees are non-refundable if the event is postponed, modified, or cancelled due to circumstances outside of Nike’s control, including (but not limited to) extreme weather, public safety concerns, or government directives; and
• Nike is not responsible for any additional costs incurred, including travel or accommodation expenses in connection with a postponed, modified or cancelled event.

If the event is cancelled because required council approvals or permits are not obtained, and your application has been accepted and your credit card charged, Nike will refund the entry fee.

For clarity, and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable laws, any refund in these circumstances is limited strictly to the entry fee paid and does not extend to any other costs, expenses, claims or liability, including travel and/or accommodation.

No, there is no qualification time required to run After Dark Sydney but you will be asked to specify your expected finish time when registering.

However, to experience the whole race course over the 21.1km journey, participants must complete the course within 4 hours.

We've carefully designed the course so every participant can cross the finish line and enjoy the Celebration and Recovery experience. To make this possible, the following strategic redirection points have been identified, along with what time of day you need to be past this point to avoid being redirected:

• Redirection Point 1 (6.44KM) - 7:13PM
• Redirection Point 2 (9.62KM) - 7:49PM
• Redirection Point 3 (15.2KM) - 8:52PM

• Approximately 7,500 participants will be arriving at Rozelle Parklands - please allow extra time, and be patient and friendly with fellow runners, event staff and volunteers.
• Hydrate well and complete your warm-up before heading to the start line.
• Listen to the emcee and event notifications for wave and start instructions.
• You will be allocated a start wave based on your finish time nominated at registration.
• Waves will depart in staggered intervals to ensure space on course. Your race time starts once you cross the timing mat (also referred to as a mat start).
• Strict cut-off times apply.
• The first 1km is narrow due to early pinch points - please remain patient, follow staff and signage instructions and stay within the designated course lane at all times.

• Runners will be released in six waves (A - F).
• Wave indicated on your bib.
• Waves load sequentially via controlled entry. Wave A first, followed by B, C, D, E and F.
• Your race time starts when you cross the timing mat (net/chip time).
• Runners must enter the start corral when the emcee calls your wave.

Please complete the back of your race bib with important information, including emergency contact details, allergies, medical conditions, and current medications. This is essential for first aid teams in case of an emergency.

Bag drop will not be available at the start line. If you are bringing a post-race celebration bag, please ensure you have reviewed the bag drop guidelines and have dropped your bag off prior to arriving at the start line.

Please bring a valid photo ID (e.g. passport, driver's license) to the event. This may be required to collect your race pack at the Expotique and access the post-race celebration.

Standard and accessible portable toilet facilities will be available at the start area. Due to the high volume of participants, there may be queues, so we recommend using the restroom at home before heading out and allowing extra time for a bathroom stop if needed prior. Public urination is prohibited by law and is in breach of the Event Terms & Conditions.

Yes, a warm-up area will be available near the start line. Further information will be shared closer to race day.

Runners will be seeded on race day based on their projected finish time entered at the time of registration.

Unlike a traditional road half marathon, this course includes:

• Baby strollers and prams are not permitted.
• Wheeled devices are not permitted except authorised wheelchairs and approved mobility devices.
• Overtaking may be restricted in narrow sections.
• Participants should avoid running more than two abreast.

To experience the whole race course over the 21.1km journey, participants must complete the course within 4 hours.

We’ve carefully designed the course so every participant can cross the finish line and enjoy the Celebration and Recovery experience. To make this possible, the following strategic redirection points have been identified, along with what time of day you need to be past this point to avoid being redirected:

• Redirection Point 1 (6.30KM) - 7:11PM
• Redirection Point 2 (9.55KM) - 7:48PM
• Redirection Point 3 (15.2KM) - 8:52PM
• Redirection Point 4 (19.05KM) - 9:37PM

Runners redirected at these locations will not run the full 21.1km or receive an official finish time but will be guided toward the finish precinct to join the celebration. Participants redirected at these points will not complete the full 21.1km or receive an official finish time. You’ll still be guided to the finish precinct to collect your medal and join the celebration.

Runners must avoid running in big groups or run maximum 2 abreast due to tight areas of the course. There will also be designated "no overtaking" areas along the course so please keep an eye out for the course signs.

While headphones are permitted, we strongly recommend limiting their use so you can clearly hear important instructions from course marshals and traffic management. Running with headphones is at a participant’s own risk.

No, dogs and other animals are not permitted on the course for safety reasons with the exception of registered assistance and/or guide dogs which may be permitted. Please indicate this when prompted during registration or submit a written request.

Due to the unique nature of the Nike After Dark course, prams and strollers are not permitted.

Unlike a standard road half marathon, the Sydney route includes mixed terrain such as roads, boardwalks, gravel paths, and narrow sections, and takes place at dusk.

For the safety of all participants, wheeled devices are not allowed, except for authorised wheelchairs, handcycles, and approved mobility devices for participants with disabilities.

Whilst costumes are permitted, offensive clothing, signage or accessories and clothing, signage or accessories with unauthorised commercial or promotional content is strictly prohibited and in breach of the Event Terms & Conditions. This includes clothing, signage or accessories with:

• obscene, discriminatory, or offensive (including politically offensive) messages;
• messages that could be deemed divisive, provocative, or inappropriate for a public, family-friendly event;
• unauthorised commercial or promotional messages from third party companies, including Nike competitors.

Participants in breach of the Event Terms & Conditions may be disqualified and/or removed from the course at the discretion of race officials.

Security and event organisers have the right to refuse entry on the basis of a participant wearing or carrying any items of clothing, signage or accessories deemed offensive, dangerous, hazardous, illegal, or that Nike reasonably considers could be used as a weapon or compromise safety. Six drink stations will be positioned approximately every 3 - 5km along the course:

Station 1 at 4.45km - Water and Electrolyte

Station 2 at 9.04km - Water

Station 3 at 11.2km - Water, Electrolyte and Energy Gels

Station 4 at 14.4km - Water

Station 5 at 16.8km - Water and Electrolyte

Station 6 at 18.8km - Water

Bins are positioned 50 metres beyond each station.

Participants must dispose of cups and gel wrappers in designated bins. Littering may result in disqualification and delays to road reopening.

POST-RACE CELEBRATION

Participant race bibs include entry to the celebration.

Supporters must hold a valid supporter ticket. A limited number of supporter tickets will be released on Tuesday 15 September. Registration details will be emailed to participants and Nike Members. Tickets are limited and subject to eligibility and availability.

Yes, standard and accessible toilets are conveniently located along the course. Exact locations will be provided in the course map that will be shared closer to race day.

Please make use of the toilet facilities available at the start area, along the course, and at the finish line. Public urination is prohibited by law and is in breach of the Event Terms & Conditions.

Due to the high volume of participants, there may be queues, so we recommend using the restroom at home before heading out and allowing extra time for a bathroom stop if needed prior.

AFTER THE RUN

• Keep moving through the finish chute and walk-off area into the park
• Seek medical assistance immediately if you feel dizzy, unwell or unusually short of breath
• Medical support is available at the finish chute, with an additional medical tent located inside Tumbalong Park, behind the Depop Style Studio.

Participants are responsible for monitoring their own physical condition and seeking medical assistance if required. The availability of medical personnel, equipment or services does not guarantee assessment, treatment or assistance at any particular time or location.

Please continue moving through the finish chute to support runner flow and recovery. To ensure participant safety, stopping within the chute is not permitted.

For safety and operational reasons, access outside the park near the finish chute is restricted. Athletes who have finished their race may view runners from the designated finish viewing area within Tumbalong Park. All other spectators may view runners from the finish viewing area on Tumbalong Boulevarde, on the publicly accessible footpath.

To help minimise environmental impact, please dispose of all cups and waste in the bins provided.

The post-race celebration event has been designed with accessibility needs at the forefront. All services at the event are accessibility friendly including the use of accessible cable trays throughout the park. As more participants finish the race, the park will become more crowded. If you are having difficulty accessing services as the park becomes crowded, please don’t hesitate to seek assistance from event staff or volunteers.
